Support for your yoga practice, on and off the mat.
I started practicing yoga as a teen. I was struggling to understand who I was and how I could fit into this world and I thought maybe yoga could help me find my way. My practice has been a steady companion for decades, growing and changing with me as I've evolved. While I can't say yoga has helped me fit in, it's created a sense of sacred solitude in place of the loneliness and disconnection I once felt.
Yoga can be gentle or strong or both at once. It can be physical or mental, or both at once. Like the reminders to breathe, yoga's message that there's never any judgment, just awareness and compassion is always what I need to hear. Without this practice, I tend toward endless cycles of worry, judgement and frustration; yoga helps me soften around those harder edges that come along with being human.
Practicing yoga brings me little closer to the moment and the grace that exists in the present. I'm always learning (and forgetting, and remembering these teachings) and I have a passion for supporting others along their own paths so that together we can create a kinder, safer world for all beings.
